Fort Collins Mayor Wade Troxell will seek to stay in office in the April 4 municipal election.
Troxell was elected mayor in 2015 after serving eight years on City Council as the representative from District 4, which covers the southwest part of the city.
In a press release, Troxell stated he has enjoyed his time on council but sees more work to be done.
“I look forward to being re-elected mayor to continue providing leadership for this wonderful community and will welcome and embrace new challenges and opportunities,” he said.
Troxell grew up in Fort Collins. He attended Poudre School District schools and received three engineering degrees from Colorado State University.
As mayor, he has served on the Platte River Power Authority board, the Northern Colorado Regional Airport Commission and the Colorado Municipal League’s executive board.
He has been a member of the CSU mechanical engineering faculty for 32 years. He has been active with many local organizations.
